Application of Fisher discriminant analysis method in identification of reservoir fluids in Bozhong sag

  • Bozhong sag, as one of the key exploration target areas in the Bohai Sea, has the features of many oil-bearing layer and complex fluid properties, making it difficult to quickly identify reservoir fluids. To address the problem, and to improve the rapid identification and quantitative interpretation and evaluation of oil and gas layers, the data of 37 wells have been systematically studied. The data body based on the gas component and its derived parameters is used for Fisher discriminant analysis, and for centroids, discriminant function eigenvalues and contribution degrees acquisition of each group. The optimal discriminant parameters are selected to establish the Fisher discriminant analysis and interpretation model, which was then applied and proved in several wells of the secondary structural belt of the Bozhong sag.The application results show that Fisher discriminant analysis method based on gas hydrocarbon component and its derived parameter data can address the reservoir fluid type identification and threshold standard classification. The oil and gas water layer interpretation coincidence rate is more than 85% based on well logging results. The developed method innovatively applies mathematical methods and models to address production problems with good application effects, providing references and promotion value for other exploration areas.
