Study and analysis on domestic and foreign software related with coiled tubing

  • In China, the software technologies related with coiled tubing have been imported for a long time, and they are poorly matched with the home-made equipments, so safety and efficiency of field construction are impacted seriously. To solve this problem, the status and differences of domestic and foreign software technologies related with coiled tubing were analyzed. After literatures were investigated abundantly, the infrastructure, basic function and technical characteristics of Cerberus software of NOV CTES (a foreign company) were analyzed, and domestic downhole coiled tubing mechanics analysis software, drilling mechanic parameter calculation software and fluid property parameter analysis software were introduced. Then, domestic and foreign software technologies related with coiled tubing were comparatively analyzed. Besides, the adaptability and selection basis of various models were illustrated based on the actual application effect of the models required for the coiled tubing software programming. And finally, the development direction of this technology was proposed as follows. First, speed up the structure design of coiled tubing software database. Second, optimize the overall infrastructure of coiled tubing software. And third, research and develop the support coiled tubing detection and monitoring system. It is indicated that the modulus of domestic coiled tubing design and evaluation software is single and no related product is developed, so the further development of domestic coiled tubing technologies is restricted seriously. To solve this problem, it is necessary to improve domestic coiled tubing software technologies sustainably. The research results can be used as the reference for the improvement of domestic coiled tubing software technologies.
