Abstract
In order to deal with cementing and sand control in old wells after window cutting, a new type of integrated cementing and sand control technology suitable for offshore oil fields was developed based on the characteristics of offshore oil fields, e.g. complex formation, serious sand production and high daily operation cost. By virtue of this technology, both sand control string and cementing string are run in the hole by one trip. Then, the cementing operation in the upper troubled section and the sand control in the lower oil layer can be realized by carrying out the operation in different locations. During the operation, the hydrostatic column pressure of sand control interval can be controlled to prevent formation collapse. After the operation, plug drilling is not needed, so reservoir contamination is avoided. The string size after the completion is larger, and it is conducive to the late production or workover. This technology solves the technical difficulties that have hindered the stimulation of old wells in offshore oil fields for a long time, and also plays an active role in reducing the completion cost and alleviating the operation difficulty in the late stage.
