Combined interwell channeling control in the early stage of huff and puff of multiple thermal fluid

  • Good development effects have been achieved since huff and puff thermal production of multiple thermal fuid was technically demonstrated on site in Bohai Oilfeld. Due to the physical properties of oil reservoir and thermal fuids and the well pattern modes, however, interwell channeling is more serious during heat injection. As a result, the single-well oil production in the huff and puff cycle drops by 30% and thermal production effect gets worse. To relieve the gas channeling, its cause was frstly analyzed. Then based on the numerical simulation method, combined with the chemical profle control and plugging technology, it was proposed to take the combined control measures of "pattern heat injection +high-temperature profle control and plugging +emulsion prevention synergism"in the early stage of huff and puff. That is to inject multiple thermal fuids through multiple wells simultaneously, and select temperature-sensitive reversible gel to plug the large pore passages temporarily and high-temperature emulsion prevention synergist to improve the thermal recovery factor. Field test results show that during the construction of thermal production, the neighboring wells are all in normal condition without obvious gas channeling. The daily oil increment of heat injection well is 1.5 times higher than that before the measures are taken. On the whole, the application effect is good. It provides the effective technical support for the channeling control between offshore thermal production wells and quality and effciency improvement in the future.
