Cavity bypassing connection technology for high-angle window sidetracking of brine horizontal well

  • After a cavity is built up by means of solution mining through brine wells, the rock salt bed in the cavity suffers plastic damage for its support pressure is higher than the strength limit corresponding to its stress state. As the exploitation continues, the damage form is unchanged but the damage range is expanded. When running through mudstones along the original drilling trajectory of well group Su 16, cavity passages are blocked, so brine exploitation rate is impacted seriously, only 6-7 m3/h, it is basically at semi production state and the blockage cannot be removed even multiple technologies are adopted. High angle windowing technology and short radius horizontal well technology were introduced to carry out 3D bypass design, trajectory optimization and window sidetracking program optimization on side Well Suyan 16-1 so that its trajectory can bypass small cavities and connect with large cavities of Well Suyan 16. With the successful application of high angle windowing technology, high defection rate trajectory control and cavity bypassing connection technology, the high angle windowing based cavity bypassing connection technology is developed. It provides the demonstration basis for the normalization of window sidetracking of horizontally connected brine wells.
