Abstract
At present low oil price, it is necessary to minimize energy consumption of rod-pumped wells and enhance efficiency of rod-pumped well systems. Accordingly, uniformed optimization model with combination of intermittent production and continuous production for energy conservation in rod-pumped well has been constructed. With proper production parameters, the new model can effectively reduce daily power consumption by rod-pumped well jointly through minimization of production and reduction of unit consumption without compromising productivity. Based on the optimization model, design for stepless intermittent operation has been proposed to provide solution to the newly constructed model. By comparing energy consumptions of intermittent production and continuous production, combination of optimal production parameters can be identified to minimize daily power consumption. On-site application results show the stepless intermittent operation optimization can further reduce energy consumption of rod-pumped well with medium or low productivities than the conventional continuous optimization. In this way, the efficiency of production system can be further enhanced. The innovative uniformed model and relevant solutions may provide reliable data for economic assessment on continuous or intermittent production in rod-pumped well. Relevant research results may provide necessary guidance for energy conservation and performance optimization in wells with medium or low productivity.
