Imgaing logging used in valuation of reservoir stimulation

  • The depth of carbonatite reservoir in Tarim Oilfield is up to 5 000~7 000 m. In order to prevent downhole troubles caused by running casing in cementing and to save costs, some wells were stimulated by way of long interval openhole completion. Due to long interval in long interval openhole completion, the assessment only by acid fracturing and software simulation after stimulation is of great blindness. By comparing the imaging log of bottom openhole interval before and after reservoir stimulation, the initiation location of fractures and the fracture height near the wellbore could be found, and it was clear which section of reservoir was stimulated. The conclusion from comparing the images of imaging logging was correlated with the result of produced fluid profile testing and the fluid data of productivity after fracturing. The result shows that these three are very well consistent. The correlation of images from imaging logging before and after reservoir stimulation provides a new technique for evaluation of reservoir stimulation and provides a visual basis for the program of reservoir stimulation optimization.
