Practice and understanding of industrial fracturing for shale gas of Longmaxi Formation in Changning region

  • Shale gas of Longmaxi Formation in Changning region of Sichuan Basin is characterized with large thickness, high organic content, local development of fracture system of regional structure, complex mountain landform of construction site, nonuniform distribution of surface water source, etc. Pilot test for industrial fracturing is developed to further improve shale gas exploitation efficiency and lower exploitation cost for this region. Through early transformation for this region, the shale gas industrial fracturing transformation technology is developed, which integrates design, tool, liquid, clustered perforation and drilling upon preliminary exploration. The fracturing practice has been completed for 7 wells of 2 shale gas well groups, with satisfactory testing output. It is shown from practice that clustered horizontal well group and industrial fracturing transformation can effectively improve single-well output and exploitation efficiency of shale gas, and can provide reference for efficient and scale exploitation of mountainous region in the future.
