Research and application of improving multiple thermal fluid recovery effect by profile control with foam

  • During thermal recovery from marine oil reservoirs with high porosity and high permeability, steam channeling is a problem which must be confronted and addressed. In view of the reservoir development with high speed and high efficiency, it is objectively required that the technology should be stable and reliable. Through experiment and evaluation on static performance and dynamic performance of high temperature foaming agent, the concentration of forming agent was optimized, and the parameters were optimized by way of numerical simulation method. The research on optimized high-temperature foaming agent shows that the foaming volume at 190℃ was ≥180 mL, half-life period was ≥420 s, and resistance factor was ≥20. After 12 hours under constant 300 ℃, its forming volume, half-life period and resistance factor were all over 90% of its original values. The optimized forming agent concentration was 0.3%, which can improve the displacement efficiency by 14.49%. The slug injection method can improve the oil displacement efficiency by 18.25%. After this technology was used on site, the injection pressure increased by about 1.5 MPa, and the oil production was not affected by thermal injector.
