Application of new high-temperature resistant polymer/latex anti-gas channeling cement slurry system in Liuhua deepwater block of the South China Sea

  • A new type of high-temperature resistant polymer/latex anti-gas channeling cement slurry system for well cementing in deepwater hydrocarbon reservoir is developed on the basis of consideration on high temperature and good permeability of downhole hydrocarbon reservoir in Liuhua deepwater block of the South China Sea. Through laboratory experiments, formulas of cement slurry system adapted to different temperatures are worked out and the conventional properties, rheological property, and anti-gas channeling property of the system are also evaluated. Field application results show that the cement slurry has the characteristics of high-temperature resistance, low water loss, and anti-gas channeling. Cementing quality of the 3 deepwater wells applied in hydrocarbon reservoir section all showed good well cementing quality.
