Application of testing technology in complex gas reservoirs of Amu Darya

  • High-temperature, high-pressure and high-productivity gas wells in the Amu Darya gas field encountered high well-control risks, difficulties in well killing, secondary pollution of reservoir formation, difficulties in acquisition of data and other challenges during testing operations. Researches have been carried out to improve testing technologies, and modify relevant tools. Through tool selection, process optimization and field test, two sets of integrated perforaion, acidizing and testing processes for high temperature, high sulfur content, and different productivities have been established, namely, OMNI valve + LPR-N valve+ RD valve three in one string for low pressure wells in A block, and OMNI valve+RDS valve+ RD valve three in one string for high pressure wells in B block. The new integrated process has been applied on 41 wells in the Amu Darya Gasfield with a success rate of 100%, and a geologic data acquisition rate of 100%. Among these wells, over 20 had a production of over 100×104 m3/d after acidizing. Compared with conventional technologies, the integrated process can shorten the average perforation, acidizing, and testing time by over 15 days, lowering operation cost and well control risks during the completion of complex carbonate reservoirs substantially. The study provides references for the completion of similar gas reservoirs.
