Gelling properties of low chemical linked hydrophobically associating polymer solution in high-temperature and high-salinity reservoirs

  • A new technological idea,which uses hydrophobically associating polymer and combines physical with chemical crosslinking,is proposed to resolve contradictions among gel intensity,long-term stability and capability of large-dosage interjection when gelling fluid is used in high temperature and high salinity reservoirs with low permeability.Furthermore,required properties of gelling solution are discussed.In view of the conditions of four reservoirs in Shinan Oilfield in Xinjiang,properties of gelling solution mainly prepared by hydrophobically associating polymer AP-P4 are evaluated.Experimental results show that the solution features in temperature resistance and salt tolerance,shearing resistance,anti-diluting of formation water and lower injection pressure.
