Abstract:
The shallow salt belt of mountain front is severely squeezed, so faults are developed there. The casing near the faults tends to break down, which affects the following drilling process greatly. According to the key scientific issue in the casing deformation and failure near the faults, the casing failure mechanism and curing strategies are studied. Through analyzing the geological environment of the shallow salt belt faults, the main reason for casing deformation was determined. By finite element model, the treating techniques of applying high strength casing, increasing casing wall thickness, improving cementing quality, and taking double casings were studied, and the strategy to inhibit casing deformation was made and corresponding casing assemble was recommended. The application showed that the studied casing assemble could efficiently isolate the shallow salt belt to avoid casing failure.
