Abstract: As the key steering tool used in drilling the extended reach well,the rotary steerable drilling system is an integrated downhole closed loop controlling system composed of mechanical,electrical and fluid technologies.Based on the illustrations of its functions and characteristics,its applications are described in detail.The typical products available at present are presented,focused on illustrating the basic working mechanisms,configurations and specifications of such systems as Auto Irak,Power Drive and Geo-Pilot.
