Abstract: Research and field test of flexible rod have been performed since 1997 in the fourth Oil Pro ducing Plant, Huabei Oilfield. It has been found that with the advantages of high strength, less weight, smooth surface, difficult for wax to deposit and so on, the flexible (wire line) rod can achieve the effect of re ducing disconnection, improving efficiency and increasing output. Six times of field application indicates that good economic and social benefits will be achieved by using this technology. After having solved some existing problems, it is indeed worth popularizing.
