厄瓜多尔TARAPOA区块上部欠压实地层钻井液技术

Drilling fluid technology for top undercompacted formation in Tarapoa Block of Ecuador

  • 摘要: 厄瓜多尔Tarapoa区块上部地层沉积时间短,地层较新,欠压实,在钻井施工时易发生井壁失稳,引起泥包、造浆等问题。为解决此问题,利用钙离子絮凝、抑制的特点,结合物理封堵研究了钙基强封堵钻井液体系。室内评价结果表明,钙基强封堵钻井液配方一次回收率达到88.28%,黏土岩心膨胀量仅为4.287 mm,岩心封堵率95%以上,抗黏土污染大于10%,具有絮凝钻屑、抑制性强、封堵性作用良好和抗钻屑污染高等特点。在Tarapoa区块应用十多口井,钙基强封堵钻井液防塌作用明显,密度易控,流变性能稳定,解决了该区块上部地层钻井液技术难点,提高了机械钻速,保证了起下钻顺畅,下套管安全到位,完全满足厄瓜多尔上部地层安全钻进的需要。

     

    Abstract: At Tarapoa Block in Ecuador, the top formation is young and undercompacted with short deposition time, so wellbore instability tends to happen easily in the process of well drilling, and leads to balling up, mud making and other problems. In order to solve these problems, a calcium-base drilling fluid system with strong plugging capacity was researched based on flocculation and inhibition property of calcium ion, combined with physical plugging, and then it was evaluated indoors. It is shown that the calcium-base drilling fluid system with strong plugging capacity has primary recovery ratio of 88.28%, swelling capacity of clay core of 4.287 mm, core plugging rate over 95% and clay pollution resistance over 10% and it is characterized by flocculated cuttings, strong inhibition, high plugging capacity and strong cutting pollution resistance. It was applied to more than 10 wells in Tarapoa Block. It is indicated that the calcium-base drilling fluid system with strong plugging capacity is advantageous with remarkable anti-collapse effect, controllable density and stable rheological property. And its application solves the difficulty of drilling fluid technology in the top formation of Tarapoa Block, improves the rate of penetration, assures the smooth tripping in and out and lowers the casing to bottom hole safely. In short, the calcium-based drilling fluid with strong plugging capacity fully satisfies the needs of safe drilling in the top formation of Ecuador.
