Abstract:
The Baikouquan Formation tight oil in Mahu slope, the Junggar Basin is a large oil province which was newly discovered by Xinjiang Oilfield Company. The development of horizontal wells with long horizontal sections is faced with poor drillability of glutenites, serious borehole instability and collapse, complex circulation loss and difficult cementing. Average single-well circulation loss is 173 m
3 and the ROP in horizontal sections is only 2.06 m/h. To solve these problems, a series of supporting technologies for ROP improvement were mainly studied and applied, such as casing program "simplification", well trajectory optimization, EVOLUTION
® similar oil based drilling fluid, small clearance cementing technology for long horizontal sections and bit selection for difficult glutenites. They were successfully used for the drilling of two horizontal wells with long horizontal sections (2 000 m long) in Ma 131 block. Their drilling periods were shortened by 27.7%, the casing was run in the hole smoothly, and the cementing quality could satisfy the requirements of large-scale staged fracturing. Thus, a set of well drilling and completion technologies suitable for the economic and efficient development of tight oil in Mahu area are established. And they can be used as the technical reference for the drilling and completion of domestic horizontal wells with long horizontal sections.
